Our First Christmas as Husband and Wife

Our first Christmas as husband and wife was so memorable. On Christmas Eve, we went over to Steve's parents house and had dinner with the family. We had wonderful finger food. We played games, shared presents, and had a wonderful time hanging out with the family. On Christmas Day we woke up early and headed to my parent's house to open gifts there and have breakfast. Steve's presents this year were one of our favorite wedding pictures that I had made into a canvas for him, a Busy Dad's Bible, a journal to write his devotions in, Baby's First Year (he asked me to do one for our children.), a Dallas Cowboy's shirt and socks, a Hurley sweatshirt, and the Love Dare. It was so much fun to see his face when he opened each gift. Steve knocked my socks off! He bought me a beautiful diamond ring and more diamond earrings! He spoils me so, so much!

Later on during the day, we went back to the Jones' house for desert. After hanging with the in-laws, we went back to our place and got ready for dinner at my parent's house. My mom had her usual big Christmas get together.

These last few days have been really quiet around here. Steve got the flu on Sunday, so we have been relaxing and taking it easy. I've loved playing nurse and taking care of him!

As I get further along in my pregnancy, I notice that I can pick up on more smells around the house. Earlier today, I smelled something horrific coming from the kitchen. It wasn't the garbage because I took it out earlier this morning. It took me all day to figure out that the smell was coming from the refrigerator! I cleared everything out and found some soup that I had in there from a few weeks ago, and then some leftovers that we got from a dear friend from Thanksgiving. Needless to say, I through all of the gross food out and deep cleaned the refrigerator.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!

Life Since October 30

Steve and I are enjoying being married and all the challenges that come with being newly weds. We have had many visits with our wonderful pastor JasonB and with my parents. Mostly, it happens when I have a melt down and things aren't going my way. Hmm...Surprise right? When we first got married, I was always waiting and waiting to go home and be in my house with my parents, and not to be around Steve all the time. Lately, I have loved and can't wait for Steve to come home and spend time with me! Home is becoming more like home. I think it helped when we finally got our kitchen table. Thanks Dad! We love how cozy it is on cold winter days.

On December 15, we were able to find out that we were going to have a baby boy! We were so excited. My parents cried and everyone we told was super happy to have another boy in the family. Steve said from the very begginning that we were going to have a boy! Before we knew, we had fun buying odds and ends for our little monkey. We are so excited to meet Andrew Charles Jones on April 20th, 2011. We, well I am, hoping that he comes on his due date or the day before, so my dad can meet his grandson before he leaves for Israel.

Christmas is only a few days away and we are busy getting last minute things accomplished before we can relax and enjoy our families. We are so thankful for a God who loves us so much that he was willing to be born in a manger for us, and then die on a cross for all of our sins!

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you have a wonderful time with your families and a wonderful New Year.

Love,
Megan, Steve, and Baby Drew
