Our First Christmas as Husband and Wife

Our first Christmas as husband and wife was so memorable. On Christmas Eve, we went over to Steve's parents house and had dinner with the family. We had wonderful finger food. We played games, shared presents, and had a wonderful time hanging out with the family. On Christmas Day we woke up early and headed to my parent's house to open gifts there and have breakfast. Steve's presents this year were one of our favorite wedding pictures that I had made into a canvas for him, a Busy Dad's Bible, a journal to write his devotions in, Baby's First Year (he asked me to do one for our children.), a Dallas Cowboy's shirt and socks, a Hurley sweatshirt, and the Love Dare. It was so much fun to see his face when he opened each gift. Steve knocked my socks off! He bought me a beautiful diamond ring and more diamond earrings! He spoils me so, so much!

Later on during the day, we went back to the Jones' house for desert. After hanging with the in-laws, we went back to our place and got ready for dinner at my parent's house. My mom had her usual big Christmas get together.

These last few days have been really quiet around here. Steve got the flu on Sunday, so we have been relaxing and taking it easy. I've loved playing nurse and taking care of him!

As I get further along in my pregnancy, I notice that I can pick up on more smells around the house. Earlier today, I smelled something horrific coming from the kitchen. It wasn't the garbage because I took it out earlier this morning. It took me all day to figure out that the smell was coming from the refrigerator! I cleared everything out and found some soup that I had in there from a few weeks ago, and then some leftovers that we got from a dear friend from Thanksgiving. Needless to say, I through all of the gross food out and deep cleaned the refrigerator.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!

It is so much fun to read your comments, Megan. It's clear that you are turning more and more to God for help and guidance in your life and marriage ... the smartest thing you can do! Mom will also be pleased to see the great writing and grammar skills ... her home schooling efforts have paid off!

We love you and Steve so much,
Dad
